Creating The International Professional Guild of Psychologists Game Practitioners was a timely and logical step: gamification is becoming part and parcel of the modern world. Psychologists, psychotherapists, teachers, and coaches have been treating play techniques with professional interest.

Our overall purpose is to create an evolving professional community. Our goals are: to enhance the quality of psychological follow-up using play techniques; to popularize and introduce play techniques into psychological practice; to cultivate the psychological services market. It is paramount to us to bring together psychologists and psychotherapists of different trends: to develop the psychological practices gamification market within and outside Russia, and to boost its significance.

In 2013, the first research and practice conference, "Modern Therapeutic and Transformational Play  Techniques", was held. It became the first public event dedicated to solving the problems of helping practices gamification.

A number of vital contributions into the professional field development have been made since then: the development of play therapy methodology for adults and adolescents; the integration of therapeutic transformation games signature method into the psychological practice; the Play Therapy Laboratory has started to operate.

In addition, an on-going "Create Your Game!" training course invites students to study and put into practice the process of psychological play techniques creation.

​As a group of enthusiasts of the new profession called “Game Facilitator-Psychologist”, we have prepared the methodological framework for its development. We have also decided to run a number of events which will serve our common cause and promote our profession on the global market.
